# Artboards

> Selecting which artboard to render at runtime

A Rive file can contain multiple [Artboards](https://rive.app/docs/editor/fundamentals/artboards.md), each representing a separate animation or interface. When rendering a `.riv` file in your application, you choose which artboard to display using your runtime’s API.
